About Katherine
Over my years’ experience as an educator, many of them in a international setting, I have come to understand that for students to experience academic and personal success, three main components must come together - a positive relationship with the teacher, the ability to authentically reach challenging yet achievable goals and an environment where students can create a positive belief of themselves as a learner.
My classroom is a place where I aim to have a positive influence on each child’s life ... to help them to develop and grow a love of learning that will be carried with them throughout their whole lives ... to be part of their journey as happy, balanced, responsible individuals who will serve and participate positively in their community ... to enable students to appreciate and embrace diversity and cultures other than their own and see the world through a lens of international-mindedness ... to facilitate their understanding of themselves so they can find their place in the world with confidence and enthusiasm.
